Group: Government Affairs

NAHB is seeking a coordinator to provide administrative and fundraising support to its federal political action committee, BUILD-PAC, and the Government Affairs department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the PAC fundraising team by maintaining donor lists, preparing meeting materials and updating donor communications.
  • Track donor invoices and processes all incoming PAC contributions.
  • Maintain and update the donor database.
  • Help with fundraising campaigns, thank-you notes and following up with lapsed donors.

Coordinator, Digital Content

NAHB is seeking a strong writer with experience writing for traditional and digital channels to help develop content to support NAHB members and the value of NAHB membership, and promote NAHB’s messaging and advocacy priorities across digital platforms.

Economist

Program & Meetings Facilitator, 20 Clubs

Group: Member Services and Education

The 20 Clubs is an exclusive networking program for NAHB members who build and remodel homes. The program enables members to identify and implement best management practices, systems and solutions to enhance the efficiency and profitability of their businesses. This position reports to the Director of Networking Programs, and successful job candidates will travel to meetings, deliver exceptional customer service, and interface with members and external stakeholders to provide an environment that ensures participants can capitalize on their involvement in the program.

Common tasks include:

  • Collaborate with NAHB in-house meeting planners and NAHB 20 Club members to ensure appropriate on-site meeting coordination, a meaningful agenda, and a successful meeting.
  • Travel autonomously to approximately 20 meetings annually (domestic and international), serving as a meeting facilitator, record keeper, and on-site resource for club members. A typical meeting is two to three days in length, sometimes over weekends. The heaviest amount of travel takes place in the spring and fall seasons each year.
  • Act as a liaison with hotel, restaurant, transportation and guest speakers to ensure seamless onsite event coordination.
  • Conduct thorough follow-through post-meeting by completing timely comprehensive reports for club members and internal associates including minutes, post-meeting reports, expense reports, billing, etc.
  • Effectively communicate messages and policies to members verbally and through online communications.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience in the association industry or a customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
  • A history of running on-site meetings is preferred but not required.
  • Volunteer management experience is preferred but not required.
  • Recent college graduates and those returning to the workforce are encouraged to apply.

Program Manager, Safety

Specialist, Event Support

Group: Event and Building/OPS

NAHB seeks a professional to provide first-level support to the internal NAHB functions requirements of the National Housing Center (NHC), which takes place throughout the NAHB-occupied floors. Included among these priorities is the coordination and support of NAHB stakeholder meetings.

The Event Specialist provides backoffice support as directed by the NHC Managing Director, including reviewing and approving conference room calendar requests, external/internal billing and NHC record-keeping. Additionally, the Event Specialist will provide as-needed support to external client events, which may require working outside of standard building operation hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes all external/internal billing for all events held in the NHC, including maintenance of client information, contact and financial records, tracking invoices, and deposits.
  • Manages the NHC calendar and provides first-level assistance to NHC client requests.
  • Provides onsite meeting support:
    • Confirms vendor deliveries for events held in the NHC, such as linen and catering deliveries.
    • Communicates any food and beverage needs to banquet support staff for onsite meetings.
    • Serves as the onsite point of contact for the Functions Team for internal meetings.
    • May serve as a point of contact to external client groups hosting onsite events in the NHC as needed.
  • Assists in NHC marketing efforts, including facilitating updates to the NHC website and social media platforms.
  • Collaborates with internal clients on event logistics to ensure a quality meeting experience and ensures the NHC Managing Director is apprised of special meeting requirements. Ensures that all such commitments are reflected in the NHC functions calendar.

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in conference center operations support, meeting/event support, and hospitality is required.
  • Experience with back-office tasks, such as calendar management, and invoice and payment processing, is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment (20-30 lbs.).
  • Associate of Science degree in a related field of study, or comparable education and experience, is required.

Specialist, Helpdesk Support

Staff Counsel

Systems Developer

Group: Information Technology and Services

NAHB seeks a systems developer to assist the NAHB senior application developers in ensuring effective operations and maintenance of NAHB’s systems, including the association management system (AMS), in addition to other applications. The position will assist the Information Technology and Services (ITS) development team with all design, coding, implementation, and support aspects.

The system developer will work closely with the senior developers to learn the code base, write code, fix bugs, and attend requirements and design meetings.

  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading the existing software applications to meet the Association’s changing needs.
  • Support data conversions by creating SQL scripts and SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS) in SSIS.
  • Provide support to users for Aptify Desktop and Aptify Web applications as well as other systems developed or managed by NAHB's ITS team.
  • Assist the NAHB development team in the GAP analysis and reporting requirements for projects.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience developing browser-based solutions with ASP.Net, VB.Net or C#, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Deep SQL Server experience is required to utilize Transact-SQL stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.

Vice President, BUILD-PAC

Vice President, General Counsel

Group: Office of Association Counsel

NAHB is seeking a seasoned attorney to lead its Office of Association Counsel. The vice president, general counsel, will oversee NAHB’s in-house legal activities and staff. This senior position provides legal advice, counsel and risk analysis on business transactions, association operations and corporate governance. The VP, general counsel will also be involved in all litigation on behalf of the association.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides legal assistance and analysis to the chief executive officer, the senior leadership and all NAHB departments on association operations and business activities.
  • Acts as an NAHB governance and compliance resource, responding to inquiries on bylaws and corporate governance issues for the member leadership, CEO, NAHB staff, committees, councils and subsidiaries. Oversees the activities of the Office of the Corporate Secretary.
  • Coordinates with the VP, legal advocacy, on all in-house litigation responses and manages all document production related to litigation and responses to third-party subpoenas.
  • With the human resources officer, ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations by monitoring new developments and making recommendations for changes as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities in the areas of non-profit association, law, litigation, hospitality law, contracts, antitrust, and related legal issues.
  • Ability to prepare thorough and persuasive briefs, correspondence and memoranda.
  • Knowledge of human resources activities, policies and procedures.
